just came up with a wonderful, yet ridiculously stupid idea that may or may not be successful, but it's worth a try.
now, i hate making holes in the wall. like push-pins and mounting things onto the wall with nails and/or other things that could create holes in the walls. why? cuz once you take them off, all you have left is a bare wall with holes. an ugly bare wall with ugly holes.
that is why if i ever need to mount something, i make sure i get the adhesive mounting materials.
but the idea i came up with, it requires holes.
now, lately, or for a long time now, i've realized that i like to keep junk. useless stuff. refusing to throw them away in case i ever need them. or if it's part of some kind of memory. a hoarder. but not to the extreme. just....mild...? mini...? moderate....? yeah...moderate sounds better. a moderate hoarder.
so yeah, i'm a moderate hoarder. have lots of stuff that i dont really need but feel like i need to keep them in case i actually do need them in the future or they're just reminders of the past.
and i'm running out of room to store them. desk is cluttered with stuff. bookcase cluttered with stuff. shelves and closet and the storage boxes under my bed are filled with stuff.
and lately i've been thinking that one of my walls are looking kinda bare. haha 2 years ago, all of them were bare, but i realized that i should decorate my room a little since it looked plain. then i thought, since the wall is plain, but there's not enough room for more bookcases or "floor shelves," why not get "wall shelves"? shelves that hang on the wall.
then i went researching online, looking at wall shelves. saw one i like at target, but it had a "prop 65" warning. ew. saw other shelves, but i really liked the first one.
then i looked over to my multiple stacks of cardboard boxes and EUREKA.
why not just cut up the small boxes, paint them black, and use push-pins to hold them in place on the wall? i get to recycle AND save some money.
............
ugh. now that i've thought it through, i could only put lightweight things in the boxes and if there's an earthquake, they all fall down. onto my new printer. which is vulnerable to falling things right now. great.
sigh. maybe i should try it out first. test run. if it doesnt work, then off to the stores!
